What Happens If Your Car Window Tint Is Too Dark?

What happens if your tint is too dark?

Dark Tints Impede Your Vision as a Driver

Too dark of a tint may make it more difficult for you to see your surroundings in low light environments.

Driving at night with high levels of car window tint can be dangerous, too.

The combination of a dark night and dark window films can create an intense lack of visibility.

Is The Best Brand Of Window Tint Available

Just curious what you guys think is the best brand of window tint tools available? I am talking about overall brand, not types of film. Based on price(for authorized dealers), reliability, ease of installation, etc. I am partial, as I've really only worked with 1 brand. I'll start it off with Teflon Card, feel free to add more to the vote.

I’m getting a myself a new Seat Ateca FR sport and was thinking of wrapping it in either teckwrap wild orange or teckwrap apple green and then doing blacknroof and some bumper inserts black too. What is your opinion of Wrap Tools?

Benefits of Tinted Car Windows You Probably Haven't Considered

1. Safer Driving:paint protection film application tools

Driving with tinted windows is safer than driving with windows that are not tinted. Window tint significantly reduces glare in your car, so the sun won't block your view while you're driving and cause an accident.

Even in the case of an accident, tinted windows protect you from getting injured by loose shards of glass. Window tint acts as an extra layer over your windows that naturally strengthens the glass of your window panes. If your windows are tinted, they are much less likely to shatter in an accident than if they don't have the extra protective layer that window tint provides.

2. More Attractive Exterior

Picture a car--the first car that pops into your head. Now picture that same car, but with tinted windows. Which version looks better in your mind's eye?

Tinted windows automatically make any car look significantly more attractive. As exterior add-ons go, tinted windows are actually pretty affordable. Plus, unlike most of these other accents, tinted windows are practical as well as stylish. If you think your car needs a bit of a makeover, tinting its windows can give it the luxurious, sleek, stylish look you want without making you feel guilty for spending money on a pointless aesthetics-only feature.

3. Better Fuel Economy: Window Tint Tools Kit

If you've done any research on tinted windows, you probably already know that tinting your car windows can make a significant difference in the temperature inside your car. In fact, the cooling benefits of tinted windows are the main reason why many drivers eventually choose to invest in window tinting.

Because tinted windows naturally cool down your car, they also help improve your fuel economy. When the temperature is lower in your car, you are less likely to use your AC system as frequently. Running the AC in your car can quickly drain your gas tank, especially if you run it often or on high. By reducing the temperature in your car, window tint helps you save money on fuel at no cost past the initial investment you make.

4. Less Skin Damage

Tinted windows reduce the temperature in your car by reflecting sunlight away from your windows and not allowing heat to penetrate them.

Not only does this cool down the inside of your car, it also protects your skin against sun damage while you're driving. Harsh UV rays from the sun are able to penetrate through untinted windows and cause sunburns and other skin damage. Tinted windows significantly decrease your risk of skin damage while driving by making it much more difficult for these UV rays to make it through your windows.

5. Interior Protection

The interior of your car naturally fades, cracks, and wears down over time. It's inevitable. That being said, getting your windows tinted can significantly increase the lifespan of your car's interior.

Sun damage is one of the main causes of interior vehicle damage. By reducing the amount of sun exposure your interior gets, tinted windows can help prevent cracks, fading, and other visible damage--especially if your car has a leather interior.

6. Crime Prevention:Blue Max blade

Criminals are much less likely to randomly break into your car if they can't see what's inside of it. Most people who break into cars do so because they see something valuable inside--like a purse or a laptop computer. Shattering the windows of random cars in the hopes of finding something valuable is an extremely high-risk, low-reward strategy that the vast majority of criminals don't bother to try.

My name is Daniel Keller and I'm taking the vehicle wrapping class. I heard about Tintingtool.com's vehicle wrapping class by searching on Google, just searching for a wrapping class. Me and my buddy wanted to start a business, so that's the reason why we took the vehicle wrapping class. I've never had any vehicle wrapping experience. After the class, I feel like I'd be able to go out and wrap a vehicle for a customer but before I probably wouldn't have been able to do it.

Class was great, it was really easy, you follow the teacher, he gives great instruction. If you mess up, it's easy to fix with his instruction. definitely a lot of time with the teacher, interacting with one student at a time. i definitely recommend tintingtool.com's classes to my friends and to anyone looking to get into vehicle wrapping.

The cost of Window Tinting Tube Squeegees is definitely of good value. You should take the class with Tintingtool.com because it'll teach you a lot, you get a lot of instruction from one of the best teachers you can get and you get the confidence and knowledge of how to wrap a car after the class immediately.

How to Protect Your Car in Hot Weather

Cars need a little protection from the hot weather to ensure that they run optimally and don't end up with cracked upholstery. As for those traveling inside the car, the minimization of heat is essential!

Protect your parked car from heat.Car upholstery, dashboards and steering wheels can suffer from too much sunlight and heat beaming down on them regularly. If you have to park in the sunshine during summer on a daily basis, do what you can do protect the inside part of the car. Some of the things you can do include:
  • Use a windshield sun shade. This is usually something that folds out and then folds up easily for storing behind the seat. If you put up a shade every time you use the car, it'll help cut the sun's rays and can reduce a bit of the heat. While you can use just one for the front, a back window shade can also be helpful for some car types.
Protect the upholstery and dashboard with products. There are products available that can provide an additional protective layer, such as vinyl or leather protectants.
Consider getting tinted windows. If you leave the car parked in the sun a lot and it causes cracking of the upholstery, etc., tinting may be an option. However, you'll need to check your local regulations as some jurisdictions don't allow tinted windows for safety or other reasons.
Park in the shade. Wherever possible, find shady or indoor car parking during the hottest parts of the day. In some places this is possible if there are car parks lined along a park or in leafy neighborhoods. Obviously, many places lack trees for shade but check out building shade––try to look for streets where the shade created by buildings will be passing over your car during the hottest part of the day.
Check the car's battery. Excessive fluid evaporation can reduce the life of the battery. If it's the type of battery that needs liquid top-ups, add distilled water when needed.
Keep an eye on the coolant. This should be topped up when needed. Of course, don't open the radiator cap when the car is still running hot; wait at least an hour after using the car before opening.
Travel when it's cooler. Try to target your driving times for the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening. This will make it a lot more pleasant for both the driver and any passengers.

Tips

  • Keep the car clean. A shinier car will reflect more of the sun's rays, while a dirtier car will absorb more heat.
  • Tire pressure can change considerably after a series of very hot days. Hot weather causes pressure to rise, so check when the day is cooler. The car's manual will tell you the correct pressure to expect.

How to Enjoy a Chinese Moon Festival

If you're interested in the traditional Chinese celebration known variously as Mid-Autumn Festival, the Moon (or Mooncake) Festival or the Chinese Moon Festival (or Zhongqiu Festival), but you'd like to get more involved, here are some suggestions to get you started.
Steps

1、Understand what this festival is about. The Mid-Autumn festival is an important event on the Chinese and Vietnamese calendars, a time of family reunion and celebration. It is a lunar harvest festival and has rituals that date back as long ago as 3,000 years. The festival is held on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, falling close to the autumnal equinox. It is a time of lanterns, story-telling, mooncakes, dragon or lion dancing and matchmaking.
This festival has equivalents in other countries, such as Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and South Korea.
2、Gather some essential supplies. Visit your local Chinatown to purchase authentic Chinese tea leaves, lanterns, incense and moon cakes (you can also make your own lanterns and moon cakes, see later steps). These are important parts of the celebration.

3、Make moon cakes. If you enjoy baking, you might like to make your own moon cakes for the celebration. For details on making your own, see How to make moon cakes. Give yourself plenty of time to practice making them if you've never tried before––they are labor intensive and time-consuming, which is why so many of them are now made commercially.
Chinese moon cakes tend to be round (like the moon), while Vietnamese ones tend to be square but the shape used is flexible.[1]
Traditional fillings for moon cakes include: lotus bean/seed paste, sweet bean paste, five kernel, egg yolk, jujube paste or dried/jam apricots.[2] However, there are many modern variations, so if you're a keen baker, search online for the many variants of making moon cake fillings.
4、Make lanterns for decoration or for use.Making easy lanterns at home is a good way to involve the children and other family members in preparing for the event. Some ideas for making lanterns include:
Make sky lanterns for releasing into the sky.
Make a Chinese paper lantern for decoration purposes.
Make real lanterns for lighting and hanging around the home and garden.
5、Mark the date on the calendar. When the day arrives, wait until nighttime. Call your family over (this is a time of family togetherness) and watch and admire the moon together. Watch the moon rise and then disappear into the clouds or into the clear sky. Share your experiences of the moon: how bright it is, the way it looks in the night sky, the impressions it leaves on you.
If you can't be with your family, still gaze at the moon and think about your family. Suggest that they do the same too, and you'll all be looking at the moon together, even if apart.
6、Serve the moon cakes and brew tea for you and your family to eat and drink.Cut the moon cakes into fourths. Use toothpicks to eat the moon cakes.
While you eat, talk about the origins of the Moon Festival. This is a good occasion to learn more Chinese or Vietnamese history, either by viewing history information provided on the internet or looking at relevant history books.
7、Light or turn on the lanterns and close all the lights in the house.Enjoy the glow emitted by the lanterns. If you have floating sky lanterns, release them (of course, only do so if this is legal in your area––don't do it where dry grass could catch on fire and start a wildfire).
In some places you can see lantern boats being launched. This is a beautiful sight, so check your local news to see if this is happening near you.
8、Burn the incense. This is in reverence to various deities. It also adds to the atmosphere.
9、Check out the possibility of seeing live dragon or lion dances in your area. If there is a local Chinese or Vietnamese dance troupe near where you live, you might be lucky enough to see a live dance and join in the celebrations with the crowd.
    Tips
If you want to photograph the moon, check out How to photograph the moon for details, as it's a bit of challenge to get a good image of a bright object against the night sky.
Some people like to find a moon-oriented activity, such as scrying, watching the ebb and flow of a strong tide or planting winter vegetables by the moon.
If you want to find a date, go out to a dance this night and see if matchmaking is possible for you!
Legend has it that a man who lived on the moon went down to Earth, disguised as an old beggar. He came to where a rabbit, a fox, and monkey lived. He said he was very hungry. The fox and monkey found food easily, but the rabbit finally decided to cook himself so the beggar could eat him. That is why when you look at the moon very closely, you can see a dark rabbit on the moon.
    Warnings
Chinese lanterns can be a fire hazard. Only use if you have experience with them and supervise their use at all times.
Moon cakes are delicious but too many a stomachache can make!
Do not point at the moon; this is a Chinese cultural taboo.

How to Choose a Good Car Tint Shop

While some may opt for the do-it-yourself window tint, the results can be a bit unexpected if you don't know exactly what you're doing. As a result, most metropolitan areas have an abundance of tint shop choices.

In the San Francisco, CA area alone, there are 30 different tint shops within a 25 mile radius. How does a consumer choose the tint shop that does quality work? What is the difference between a "Dr. Tint" and a "Quality Window Tinting"?

We at TintCenter suggest that you do a little research.

First compile a list of 5 potential tint shops that are likely to do good work. Ask your friends and co-workers who have tinted their cars which shops they chose, look in the Yellow Pages and mark down the tint shops with large professional advertisements. Once you have this list in-hand, its time to interview each dealer:

How long have you been in business at this location? Do you have other shops in the area?

Good tint shops prosper despite other local competition by offering good service at reasonable prices. You should find a tint shop that has been in business for 5 or more years at the same location, this shows a stable business that will be there years down the road if somehow the tint goes bad.

Often times successful tint shops also open car tinting branches in neighboring cities. The installers in the newer locations may not be the of the highest quality – opening new shops means training new employees, but branches are a still a sure sign of a successful tinting business.

What types of films do you carry? What warranty do you offer on your work? Quality tint shops carry complete lines of window film from one or multiple window film manufacturers. They should carry dyed, hybrid, and metallic window films in a variety of colors and darknesses.

Beware of tint shops that only carry one or two types of film, and sells them aggressively. They may have acquired this film on sale, and may not be thinking of your unique requirements and concerns.

The warranty on the car tint varies depending on the window film you choose. TintCenter recommends that you install only window film backed with a lifetime warranty for materials and labor. Most films don't guarantee color and fading, it is recommended that you also choose one that does.

For the warranty to take effect, remember to get only legal window tint for your car. Illegal tint automatically nullifies any manufacturer's warranty. Make sure you get a manufacturer's warranty card from the dealer with the date, the window film used on each window, and the total cost of installation.

Can I visit your tint shop? Can you show me a sample of your work when I'm there?

Tint shops can sound like the best shop on the phone, but 15 minutes on-site should tell you all you need to know.

Good dealers pay attention to customer service. They should be happy and willing to spend the time to talk to you and explain how their shops work. Remember, if they don't spend time with you now, will they spend time with you when there is something wrong with your tint job?

A tint shop's work area should be indoors and clean. Their tools and window films are organized in a professional manner. If the tint shop is outdoors or in a parking lot, this is a negative since it is critical to remove all dust and dirt from the windows before applying window film.

Now take a look at a car they have already tinted. Pay attention to side-windows. The window film should be applied to the inside and be completely flush against all 4 edges of the window. Now look at the window film itself. Don't worry if the film itself looks slightly streaky and discolored, window film takes a couple weeks to dry out and become completely clear. If there are bubbles of air under the film or the film itself is not complete flat against the window, this is a sure sign of sloppy tinting.

Now, take a look at the rear window. Is the window film applied in a single piece or is it cut into strips that surround the defroster lines? The most skilled tint shops always apply film in a single piece. Now look at the borders of the rear window, in many cars there is a black 'frit' edge on the window, Make sure the window film looks securely attached to the frit as well.

Finally, get price quotes from each dealer for the exact darkness, color, and type of window film you want. Never compromise because there are plenty of other dealers out there that will offer your perfect tint. With these price quotes and your research on each tint shop, make the decision. Refer to the cost of car tint article to help you rank the dealers.

After you make your decision, remember to always make an appointment with the tint shop before you tint your car. Even if they say "drop-ins accepted" or "bring it over any time", you want you tinter to be calm and prepared for you when you arrive and not rushed.

Tinting may take a couple hours to half a day, so either arrange a ride or go to a nearby coffee shop with a good book. Enjoy!

How to Clean Hard Water Spots Off Windows

Using a Vinegar Solution

1、Fill a squirt bottle with half water and half vinegar. The best vinegar to use is plain white distilled vinegar, which is inexpensive and effective.A higher concentration of vinegar may be even more effective, so adjust the vinegar to water ratio based on the severity of the water spots.
2、Spray the vinegar solution on the glass. Spray the solution on the glass, being sure to fully saturate any stubborn water spots or areas of concentrated buildup. Allow the vinegar to soak, and reapply a couple of times for particularly dirty areas.
3、Saturate a towel with the vinegar solution. Soak a rough towel in vinegar and water, and spread it over the sprayed area of glass. You can allow the towel to sit over the area so that the vinegar can soak in thoroughly.、
4、Scrub the glass lightly with the towel. Use your rough, soaked towel to scrub the glass. You should not have to scrub hard. The bumps on the towel should act as an abrasive to help remove the spots and allow the vinegar to penetrate the mineral build-up.
5、 Allow the vinegar solution to sit. The worse the stains are, the longer the vinegar will need to do its work. Let the vinegar soak in, and reapply if it seems to be drying out。
6、Remove the vinegar solution with a dry towel or squeegee. You may want to spray the area once more with your vinegar solution or plain water, then towel off with a clean, dry towel (or paper towel) or use a squeegee to remove the water. Be sure you do not allow the vinegar solution or water to dry on the surface of the glass, as this will continue to leave more spots.

Tips for Decorative Window Film

Tint Tools Wholesale is often considered a necessity, not least by those who already have it installed. It’s not hard to see why, either  - just take a look at a few of the great benefits it can provide:

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Eliminates nasty window glare
  • Preserves the color of carpets and furniture
  • Acts as a shatter safety mechanism in case the window breaks

What many people don’t know (or haven’t considered) about window film, however, is that you can use it for stunning decorative purposes, too.

Get ready to learn about some of the best and most creative ways to use decorative window film in your home.

1. Easily get that unique stained-glass look

That’s right, you can actually turn an ordinary window into a stunning stained glass look-alike, with no easy way to tell the difference! The options for stained glass window films are vast, and unlike real stained glass, it doesn’t cost a fortune to make or install. Real stained glass can also be a real pain to install, which makes decorative window film a relatively effortless and highly cost-effective alternative.

2. Protect your sliding glass door (and yourself) from accidents

Clean and spotless sliding glass doors can be a double-edged sword, as anyone who has ever walked into one by accident will know. And don’t make the mistake of thinking it won’t happen to you – even dogs and cats with their sharp eyesight can be fooled by clear glass doors. Decorative window film can help you protect the door itself as well as your family and guests.

3. Improve your sleep in the daytime

For those times when you just need to take a nap at home, window tint can make all the difference between a restful snooze and an uncomfortable, fitful one. For those who work during the night time, this can be a lifesaver. No longer will you have to stuff your windows with foil or blankets – use block-patterned decorative window film to lower the intensity and amount of light that enters your room. It’s certainly a lot more classy than the alternatives!

4. Beautify your children’s rooms

There is an amazing variety of different designs and types of decorative window film for children’s rooms. Look around and you will find decorative film suitable for kids of all ages, ranging from complete murals to your child’s favorite cartoon characters, and more.

5. Turn extra windows into works of art

Oftentimes when renovating and extending living spaces, homeowners are left with unwanted or unnecessary windows between new rooms. Now you can easily take advantage of the extra window by decorating it instead of removing it, which can be a real hassle. It is even possible to find matching decorative window film to suit the overall look and feel of the room in question.

6. Get fancy with flower film for your façade

Make your façade more attractive by adding a nice flowery film design to your front-facing windows. There are many of these types of window film available, which means you’ll easily find something you like if flowers are your thing.

7. Give your windows a coat of frost

A favorite of decorators and homeowners everywhere, frosted window film can even be combined with interesting designs like pictures of flowers and other cool symbols that are sure to make your neighbors envious.

8. Stay stylish while guarding your privacy

Decorative window film can double as an attractive design as well as a privacy barrier to peeping toms or potential burglars.  Regardless of your personal preference and style, there are a numbers of decorative film types to fit your needs.

9. Get edgy with etches

Real etched glass doesn’t come cheap, but some homeowners simply love the unique quality it adds to their houses. With a wide array of faux etched glass window film, you can get the best of both worlds: an edgy etched look without the unbearable cost.

10. Keep your bathroom hidden

Transparent bathroom windows are the worst offenders in the ‘home annoyances’ category, which is why there’s a whole range of ripple glass window film designed specifically to keep your bathroom privacy protected.

Take a closer look at our great range of decorative films

If you’re excited about getting started with decorative film, take a look through our online catalog for the complete range of options available to you. TintCenter is able to provide partial film rolls (not pre-cut) while SnapTint offers customized pre-cut rolls to match your exact window requirements.

Black Bondo Card with Felt Edges for Car Vinyl Wrapping
